Here’s where we shamelessly plug our interests and things…
Chocolate! That is all. Okay – and I try to balance things out with CrossFit and starting mornings outside.
Our 18-month-old Hallie (AKA Hallie-Bear) is my world. I also like drawing, watching F1 and hanging with our little fam.
I’ve had many creative outlets over the years – one in particular being an event styling business, Arnold Events. I named it after a toy giraffe James bought me years ago (in case you were wondering). 🦒
I’m the guy who does business stuff and makes sure everyone else is doing business stuff too. I’m also somewhat of a master chef – whipping up treats with my eyes closed just because I can.
I have definitely fallen head-first into the roll of, “I cook woodfired pizza and smoke meat,” since becoming a Dad.
Showing Hallie new things is one of my favourite things. And my black belt in jiu-jitsu keeps the office crew in line. 😎
We started Fusion Signage after years of building custom digital signage solutions. We were offering all pieces of the puzzle, content, hardware, software… customised for each client. It resulted in our team creating incredible experiences for clients. But, in that role, we saw how businesses weren’t updating their digital signage. Day in and day out, we saw how difficult it was for them to navigate their signage software.
There was no simple solution on the market.
So we decided to build one. To focus on just one piece of that puzzle (and doing it better than the rest) – the software.
We understand how frustrating it can be to manage digital signage content. Especially if you don’t have an in-house design team, if the system’s hard to use, and if you need a half-day training meeting to get the team up to speed.
It can take a lot of time, and money. And no one likes to waste either.
That’s why we created a platform that’s easy-peasy and affordable.
So far, it’s been a hit! We’re so proud to be able to work with all kinds of businesses – big and small.
We take the ‘work smarter, not harder’ approach to most things in life. So when we set out to create Fusion Signage, it was important to keep that same mentality.
We spoke to resellers and end-users in the industry.
We discovered that many found the whole process super overwhelming, confusing and no fun at all.
So we pivoted our business away from custom solutions. And instead, focused on developing a digital signage software that only featured what people were using and asking for.
A kind of ‘take the bells and whistles off the bike, but keep the seat, wheels and handlebars’ approach!
For us, we love nothing more than helping people succeed. And if we can help them get content on their screens quickly, that feels like a win for us!
Helping people manage their digital signage content makes us feel like we’ve completed a job well done. And a bonus is that we also get to celebrate them as their businesses grow.
Our relationships mean a lot to us. Especially with resellers, since we don’t always have the opportunity to connect with the end user. Though whether a reseller or end user, we love helping people learn the platform through free demos, or answer any questions they have for us. We have many years of knowledge to share – pick our brains, we’re here to help!
a tiny and tight family business
We’ve kept our team small, made up of just 10 members.
Our team is such an important part of our business. They truly mean a lot to us, and most of them have been with us for a long time now. And we can confidently say that everyone is planning on sticking with us, because they believe in us and the business (and we believe in them!). It’s humbling to know, and, again, this means so much to us!
We try to give back to the team as much as we can. Along with online games (WFH style!), team gatherings around Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and a special end of year retreat (hello Christmas getaway!).
Overall, we’ve taken a pretty relaxed leadership approach, because we’re pretty laid-back people ourselves. So our chill (but quirky!) team culture really reflects all of our personalities.
Being a small team means we’re agile and flexible.
We take pride in offering support wherever we can. This means we’ll take your call or email and happily be on the support journey with you as far as we can. We also often add new software updates received from users. If enough people want the same thing, we make it a priority to make it happen. That’s something we really love about staying nimble and growing our business alongside those of our users.
With the trust we have in our team, we were able to move to fully work from home, around Australia. We meet for in-person catch-ups, plus the online games we all play together (#technerdthings).
Our past Team Olympics and getaway to Byron Hinterland were a really fun time. And events like these mean we can all hang out as colleagues and friends, which we love.
Just a little way we like to give back to them all. We’re so grateful to have each and every one of them by our side as we grow the business together
We hope this gave you a little more insight into us, and our direction for Fusion Signage!
