10 years building custom digital signage software gets you more than a cool story or two. For Fusion Signage co-founders Emily and James (that’s us!), it gave a rare peek into the world of resellers and distributors.
Back in the day, our full-service digital signage business allowed us to poke fingers into the pies of digital signage hardware, content, software and even installation.
We used nearly every digital signage CMS out there. But there was a big, spiky problem.
Of all the digital signage software available, none of them were exactly that: soft.
Like a welcome home hug or mum’s bath towels.
They weren’t quick, easy or comfy to use.
And they all cost a lot of pennies from many (many) piggy banks.
We were curious. Did end users feel the same?
Our suspicions were surprisingly correct.
The more we asked, the more you taught us.
Before Fusion Signage:

The moment news broke, to our delight, customers lined up for the release.
Why were we suddenly winning popularity contests for the first time ever? Because Fusion Signage deliberately set out to solve a real problem. One that closed the gap between the power of digital signage and its thrilled users.
Our approachable (and helpful!) support team continuously went above and beyond to make sure our customers were happy. Today, this is as much a part of our culture as it was from day dot. With a small business mentality from the get-go, end users received (and still do) the swift support they needed.

These thoughts, insights and love notes directly impacted the software’s development. And to this day, Fusion Signage is built by users, for users. With updates made regularly, based on useful requests from you.
With its official release, users took to the software at incredible speed.
It was important to us that Fusion Signage felt accessible to all.
So, we developed a brand that’s bright, approachable and, at its core, friendly.
After all, it made sense to apply the joyful personalities of our co-founders and team directly to the way our brand looked, sounded and even chatted to users through our support options.
We heard through the grapevine (and were told to our faces!) that people loved what we were doing. It was a proud moment to realise we had established a strong market position and reputation. This was carried on from our 10 years in the industry, and as Fusion Signage grew, this recognition did too. As new users signed on, it humbled us to hear that our brand connected with all kinds of people and businesses.
Our attention moved to developing new features other CMS’ include, on a small business budget.
